THEIR STORY
HOW THEY MET
Kaitlyn worked with Alex's identical twin brother, Michael, at Pete's Coffee & Tea in Tarzana, CA during her last year in college. Alex had been eyeing her from afar for nearly a year, before serendipitously asking to escort her on a walk to the bank down the street one payday.
BRIDE'S PROFESSION
Branch Manager Pestmaster Services, Inc. Reno
GROOM'S PROFESSION
Service Manager Pestmaster Services, Inc. Reno
LENGTH OF ENGAGEMENT
17 months
THE PROPOSAL
"It was a complete consensus between the two of us" says Kaitlyn. "From very early on, we were talking about getting married and having each other's children which was very unlike either of us - wild hearts that couldn't be tamed. But when we found each, we both fell hard and everyone around us could see the drastic change. We'd both 'been around the world and eye-yi-yi,' and were eager to 'settle' on each other."
THE GOWN
The bride wore a Belissima gown. It was old-school Hollywood glam - skin tight mermaid with just the right amount of bling.
NUMBER OF GUESTS / ATTENDANTS
100 guests, 4 bridesmaids & 4 groomsmen
THE THEME
Reno is full of antique malls and vintage shops scattered throughout the downtown area. Kaitlyn's maid of honor, Catherine - is a total vintage fanatic. The two spent a lot of time browsing the shops together. The first phase in the planning was the absolute neccessity for fabulous vintage hats and gloves.
CULTURAL TRADITIONS
They chose classic Armenian and Dutch fair for passed and stationary hors d'oeuvres which were adorned with appropriate national flags. The ceremony ended with the Armenian wedding blessing, "May you grow old on one pillow."
FIRST DANCE SONG
"You, You, You" by The 6th
HONEYMOON DESTINATION
Quail Lodge
Monterey, CA
THE WEDDING
The ceremony music was quite unique - two songs; Mike Patton's Wedding March and Tomahawks Mescal Rite II - both rather tribal sounding with flutes and strong beats to match strides to.
