In 2003 The Wall Street Journal deemed the wedding
market, " the fastest growing, most recession-proof group of buyers
around." And according to U.S. Statistics, the wedding market is
projected to grow by 16% over the next 15 years.
In 2005 the bridal industry will generate 125 billion in consumer
spending. Over 2.1 million weddings will occur with an average cost
of $26,500. Seventy-five percent of the to-be-weds will pay their
own tab. Twenty-five percent will rely on their parents to cover the
majority of wedding expenses.
