attendants: gifts / ideas
In appreciation of all the time, money and moral support your bridesmaids have invested in your wedding, it is customary to present each of them with a gift. A piece of jewelry, possibly something they can wear the day of the wedding, is a sentimental yet practical token of appreciation. Perfume, a silk scarf or gift certificate, are also nice, as are monogrammed items such as stationery, a handkerchief or date book. Another memento that can be given after the wedding day is a framed picture of the bridesmaid, perhaps with her husband or significant other. The picture doesn't take the place of a thank-you gift given the day of the wedding, but is a gracious gesture. The purpose behind these gifts is to show your thanks and appreciation to those close friends who have shared your excitement, your anxieties, and a little bit of the spotlight on your wedding day.
