a cultural experience

Traditions passed down from generation to generation, symbolic gestures and ceremonial rituals bring deep spiritual meaning to the commitment of one soul to another.

One of the most enriching aspects of living in the 21st Century is the profusion of cultural diversity, no matter where one lives. Influenced by nationalities and customs from around the world, we feel the impact of ethnic diversity in everything from food and entertainment, to clothing and education.

What most people do not realize is how deeply the customs and traditions of many cultures affect the commitment and celebration of marriage. Traditions passed down from generation to generation, symbolic gestures and ceremonial rituals bring deep spiritual meaning to the commitment of one soul to another and the families from which they come.

With the many nationalities represented throughout the country, it is inevitable that couples from different faiths and backgrounds will meet, fall in love and marry.

Blending these two cultures and all the traditions that ensue won't always be easy. Compromise and finesse are key, but in the end will be a celebration worthy of the rich heritage brought into the union by both the bride and groom. Canton born designer Vivienne Tam articulately stated, "When you mix two cultures, you should create something very interesting, very inspiring and something very courageous." And I might add, very beautiful.
